Force Quitting the App Store from the Force Quit Window If the App Store is frozen and doesn’t let you do anything with it, you can force quit it so that it gets closed completely, and you can then relaunch it from the Launchpad or the Dock. Make sure the App Store is still open on your Mac. To call the Force Quit Applications window press Command+Option+Esc on your Mac keyboard. This shortcut will open this window, where you can select running apps and close them. Also, you can call the Force Quit window using the Menu Bar: Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner of your desktop.
There are plenty of ways to quite an app in macOS. But sometimes an app will misbehave, and will simply stop responding to commands.

You can also force quit an app from the dock. Right click on on the app’s icon on your dock and then press options ( alt key ) to bring up the “Force Quit” menu.
