Version 2.9.12 of DEVONthink Pro and Pro Office allow to copy a universal URL for databases. Previously item links were only available for groups and documents. Item links can be used in any application to link directly to the referenced item and work even across device boundaries if the target database is present.Markdown documents can now link to other documents in the database or to resources such as images and CSS files with absolute paths too. Other options include downward-relative paths to documents in the database as well as universal item links.
Other enhancements in DEVONthink 2.9.12 include better gesture support for images and, also for DEVONnote, web views. The default reminder scripts that come with DEVONthink Pro and Pro Office now take a custom date instead of predefined ranges, too, and favorite groups give access to their subgroups in contextual, action, or popup menus.
DEVONthink 2.9.12 supports the flat OmniOutliner 5 file format and for users in Germany it honors the document date when importing file collections from ELO Office. Finally version 2.9.12 renders PDF pages by itself to avoid display glitches on macOS Sierra, and switches to the latest Dropbox backend.
New in DEVONagent 3.9.7:
The internet research assistant DEVONagent now sends all enquiries to Google and Bing over secure connections (https). DEVONthink Express and Pro 3.9.7 update the default Macintosh News search sets, and the Pro edition gets a new command for retrieving precise see-also results for selected text. The see-also function is based on artificial intelligence and finds archived pages or documents stored in DEVONthink databases that are contextually related to selected search results or text.
All seven updates fix further bugs and glitches, too, are free for existings users, and highly recommended.
